Hillside Villas are a pair of semi-detached houses, just off Combpyne Road (know locally as Blacksmith’s Hill), built in 1912.
We don’t know who built these houses, but they we both bought from new by sisters Beatrice and Alice Nye. It appears that, initially, they didn’t live in either house and chose to rent them out. Around this time Beatrice was a nurse in Weymouth and Alice a dressmaker living locally with family in Mulberry House in Maidenhayne.
