Update post-publication of the Musbury Parish News – A resident has mentioned that there is no mention of the surname Drake, a name most synonymous with Musbury. Quite simply there were no members of the Drake family in the village from 1841 to 1911, nor were there by 1939. The Drakes had left the village a long time before 1841 and, until we are able to analyse the parish registers, we will not know the prevalence of any surnames from the 16th to the mid-19th century.
