Musbury Parish boundaries have changed over the years. The oldest records we have discovered so are from the 1831 census, when the total acreage was 2660. This reduced to 2178 by 1851. We do not know what was lost to account for almost 500 acres, but presumably this was mainly agricultural land, as the number of dwellings continued to expand. There was a slight increase by 1891 to 2229 acres and this was to remain unchanged until 1990 when about 100 acres were transferred to Uplyme Parish. Currently Musbury Parish is 2121 acres.
